MOTION CAPTURE

  • I think motion capture is a great and convenience way to do character movement in animation or film, because its easy, and look more nature and also don’t take that long to do.

  • To do MOCAP first I need to record my movement in the MOCAP machine, then drop it in Cinema 4D, and create lots shape, for example sphere and cube, then I give them a constraint tag in character tag- Psr, then I change the size of the shape to fit the body part, then just duplicate the constraint tag and put other shape in to the different body part.

  • This is the character animation I came out with; the movements look very vivid and natural. Now I am thinking how to use it with a human model.

USING CINEMA 4D TO CLONE THE DOOR

  • First I make the door model, and then drop the door model under the cloner, and change the mode to “Grid Array”, so it so is in row and line then I change the count to 20 X 20 X 1 and make the size large. After I done that, I add a sky into the universe and make it a white texture, then I click render, it just look like the picture at the bottom, very simple but I see lots people use this in advertise.

TRYING THE EXPLOSION TOOL IN CINEMA 4D

  • I like explosion tool a lot, because it can create some fantastic effect, for example the moon. I use knife to cut it into lots part, because this will look better when we using explosion on it.

  • Then I put the explosion tool under the sphere (Moon), and key frame the properties on the timeline, so when I move the time line, the moon will explore when I want it, and we can also change the strength and speed to the result you want.

ADD HAIR TO THE MODEL

  • After I build the simple character in Cinema 4D using symmetry, I then add hair to the character.

  • I found out I can use the brush tool to make different hair style and I can also change the length of the hair is well, I think this is very cool and useful when modelling a character.
